I think this would be a companion piece to the other idea to take a budget and auto-apply it to future months. We can currently set a budget, and with one click budgeting we can go to each month for the rest of the year (or whatever period we desire) and quickly copy that budget to those months. Not automated but at least it is relatively quick.
However when we do this it only will populate the blank budget categories. What happens when we experience a financial change that would cause a specific category to need to be a different value moving forward? The only option seems to be to manually go to each future month that we have a budget set and overwrite the value.
And for context, the reason why I am setting up all future months for a year is that my budget is not the same every month. So, I need to set up all months for the year to ensure that my planned spending is not exceeding my expected income over the course of the year. I could not check for this if I were to only set one month's budget at a time.
