Allow tags to exclude transactions from budget or total or be treated as income the same way Categories work

There's a way to exclude certain categories from the budget totals but not tags! In my situation, I got an insurance payout that is to be used to replace a variety of things in different expense categories. I would like to continue categorizing those transactions in their expense categories with this tag, but it's not necessary to include these transactions in my budget since I got reimbursed for them. The problem I'm getting is that my expenses look way higher than they actually are [and income is way higher in the month that I received the payout]

Yes, please! Currently had to create categories "Reimbursible" and "Large purchase, ignore" [like home renovation project] to hide them from the totals. This would be much neater done via tags. Mint allowed hiding by tags.

chiming in to add i would love this feature! i want to be able to categorize items accurately, but within a category, some transactions may need to be included in the budget/totals and others may not. adding the "do not include in budget/totals" property to the tag feature would solve this problem for me as i could then tag the appropriate transactions that i don't want to see without changing their category.

I see this request has been around a while. It would be really helpful if we could exclude tags from budgets and totals just like categories. Hope this can happen soon.

If we're able to set a tag as "reimbursable" and any transactions we add that tag to would be removed from the budget/total - that would help when we spend a lot monthly on items we're reimbursed from businesses on.
Categories is a temporary workaround, but I can only have 1 category for the item, instead of multiple (whereas having a category and multiple tags would help.)

Just want to also throw my support in. Would love to be able to create rules around tags. If I give a transaction a tag titled Reimbursable, it would be great for that to be excluded from totals. This would be a major enhancement as right now I have to assign the transaction to a catch-all category for reimbursements, rather than it’s actual category with just a reimbursement tag.

Same request as many others -- I use tags to mark which expenses were shared with friends, expensed for work, etc. I would like these expenses not to show from budget or totals.

If we can exclude specific tags from the budget/total, that would probably be the most flexible

Having the ability to ignore expenses marked as reimbursable (think travel and meals for a sales rep) in monthly budgets and trends would be really useful.

Exclude tags from total

I have a checking account for my business where I use a tag "shareholder account" indicating business expenses I paid from my personal account. I want them in there for an overview of the total amount of business expense I made, but I don't want them to be counted as a financial transaction, because the transaction happened via my personal account. Otherwise, the same expense would be credited twice.
So it would be great if we could to the same as for categories and exclude these tags from the totals.
