I frequently use the same handful of categories, so categorizing transactions becomes a repetitive cycle of searching or scrolling to find the same options over and over.

It would be a great usability improvement to add a Recent section at the top of the category picker that automatically displays the last few categories I’ve used (for example, the last 3–5).

This would significantly speed up categorization by reducing typing and scrolling while keeping the existing category hierarchy unchanged. I’m guessing that for many users, a small set of categories accounts for the majority of their transactions, so surfacing recent selections would streamline one of the most common actions in the app.
