Currently, the API does not allow users to set the status of inserted transactions to pending. Consequently pending transactions can ONLY exist for transactions imported via Plaid.

Developers who build tools that insert transactions from sources not well supported by plaid (ie: European Banks, Apple Card, etc), would like the ability to set the status to pending and to then update it later.

There is some danger in this approach as it becomes possible for transactions to remain in the pending state forever. Developers will also need to develop strategies for what to do when the transactions are no longer pending at the original data source, but the end-user has updated the pending transaction within Lunch Money. Do they overwrite the user's changes?
