On the Transactions page, when adding a new transaction and selecting an income category, the amount field's sign with automatically change to positive (credit). However, when entering the amount, if the value is less than 1 (eg. $0.55), when you start typing "0", it automatically changes the sign to negative (debit).

Also, after typing "0" and the sign changing, pressing a character key doesn't register. Eg. If you type a period "." after the 0, it won't register. You have to press "." twice for it to register in the field.

The amount type should be defined by the category, but then only change by manual action (clicking on the sign). It should not be affected by the values entered in the amount field.
