CSV upload fails if date in first column uses DD.MM.YYYY format

In the CSV/PDF import tool, CSV files fail to parse when the date in the first column is formatted with a period as the separator ("DD.MM.YYYY").
It shows the following error:
"Error parsing your CSV file(s). The date is expected at column 0 but we found invalid date data there."
