During CSV/PDF import, the duplicate detection fails to flag transactions as duplicates if the payee contains as asterisk (*).

To reproduce, import the csv file once, then reimport the same file again. Only the payee names without an asterisk (*) are flagged as duplicates (highlighted in the attached screenshot).
