Can't hide 'Exclude from totals' recurring items in the Calendar

Under 'Display Options' on the Calendar page, the include/exclude option for 'Exclude from totals' transactions doesn't apply to recurring transactions.
If there are recurring transactions and items with an 'Exclude from totals' category, they will always display, even if the option is set to exclude 'Exclude from totals' transactions.
There should be an option to hide 'exclude from totals' recurring items as well.
