I like the idea. I wonder how that would integrate into the rest of the UI. Clicking the "Amount" column title already sorts smallest to largest or vice versa. Could there be a third setting that sorts by absolute value? Perhaps there could be a tooltip/popover that shows the current sort method that goes beyond the up/down arrow in communicating the current sort to the user.
